Acupuncture, Alternative Medicine … New Growth in Spring.  Living Stress Free.

In Nature, Spring brings on new growth.  New leaves and flowers bud, the chirping of birds can be heard more frequently, our activity increases and the amount of daylight is on the rise as the days grow longer than night.  Warmth increases.  Usually, there is more wind — more energy.

This environment gives us all more opportunity after the cold of winter. If one has been balanced and rooted during winter, the transition into Spring is easier.  Otherwise it can be turbulent.  Without roots a tree cannot grow, so too for a person.  To grow and evolve we need to be rooted in a healthy lifestyle and attitude, rooted in spirit and the Natural Flow of Energy.

Acupuncture maintains the positive upward energy flow so that when there are bumps in life, they are more easily overcome.  Some of us did not make the time to rest and rejuvenate during the winter.  Thus, our stored energy reserves are somewhat depleted.  Acupuncture will also restore your energy reserves.  When one is in a restful environment, it is easier to rest.  Seems like a no brainer; yet many live hectic lifestyles and don’t get the rest needed. And by that I mean the quality of rest we need.  Acupuncture helps this.

It is important to allow and make time for new growth.  This is the Natural movement of Spring.  Energetically, without Spring’s new growth, the fullness and joy that is naturally abundant and prevalent in Summer, is diminished.  This leads to a depressed emotional state, decreased energy, a decrease in the sense of wellness, and the beginning of illness in a variety of forms.  Just like a fire needs the proper amount and the proper condition of wood to flourish, so do human beings need the correct amount of Wood Energy, otherwise known as Spring Qi, to flourish.  Acupuncture treatment provides this energy, which should be neither too damp nor too dry.

When our energy is balanced we feel balanced, in tune, energetic, happy, stress free.  Our relationships are smoother, the bumps and stressors of life roll off. We feel free in the midst of our responsibilities, goals and aspirations.  When our energy is out of balance, diminished, blocked, too tight, too hot or too cold, too contained or not contained enough, then we can and will feel more stressed and generally not well.  Some of the symptoms that tend to show when these elements and energies are out of balance are:

  1. Stress
  2. Anxiety
  3. Headaches/Migraines.
  4. Back Pain.
  5. Allergies.
  6. Fatigue.
  7. Skin Conditions – Rashes, Psoriasis
  8. Various OBGYN issues.
  9. Cervical Pain.

The positive states of balanced energy, especially in Spring, are:

  1. Increased Energy for all activities.
  2. Taking on new projects.
  3. Well being and a feeling of wellness.
  4. A greater willingness to work through difficult situations.
  5. Strength.
  6. Flexibility.
  7. Feelings of Self Worth and a genuine concern for others.
  8. Balance.

Chronic Conditions most effectively treated at this time of year are:

  1. Fertility.
  2. Digestive Disorders.
  3. Addictions – Smoking, Alcohol and Drug Dependence, to name a few.
  4. Fibromyalgia.
  5. Muscular and Skeletal Issues.
  6. Stress.

When our energy is balanced, flowing and abundant all of Life feels good.  We have a direction, warmth, joy, friends, positive relationships, a sense of inner peace and integration. We will have a feeling of inspiration and the sense of being able to handle whatever happens during the day and year.  Balanced energy is necessary for a Balanced Mind and Bodily Wellness.
